Local Organisations
Suffolk SEND organisations
A roundup of trusted organisations across Suffolk supporting young people and families with SEND. Use this directory to find specialist services, community groups, and advocacy resources in our area.
Activities Unlimited
Activities Unlimited is part of Suffolk County Council. It gives grants to activity providers around the county, to enable them to put on high quality, inclusive groups, clubs and activities for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities. We believe that children and young people with SEND should have access to the same opportunities as their peers without additional needs.
Emotional Wellbeing Hub
Information, advice and guidance for families and young people in East and West Suffolk who are worried about the mental health of a child or young person aged 0-25. The Emotional Wellbeing Hub provides access to NHS Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Referrals by families can be made via the Hub, however there is a long waiting list.
Kooth
This is a counselling service for young people 13+. They can offer face-to-face support, counselling and guidance. However, at the moment they are running sessions virtually. They also run a WhatsApp group for the young adults to support their needs.
SENDIASS in Suffolk
Every Local Authority has to have an impartial advice and guidance service which provides training around the law for accessing EHCP’s, assessments and the rights of children/young people. They can attend meetings and support in tribunal cases and have a very useful website of information to support you.
Suffolk Family Carers
This organisation can support parents and carers of all ages. They again run training, events and open days for families and carers. They offer lots of services and can help complete Carers Assessments for Carers. They run young carer groups for siblings and adult carer groups for young adults.
Suffolk Local Offer (SEND wheel)
The Suffolk Local Offer is a website of useful organisations, schools, clubs and activities for children/young people across Suffolk. The SEND Wheel allows you to navigate your way around the site more easily.
